Planet of the Apes reflection

I personally had a good experience working in my group on the novel and film of Planet of the Apes. As a film fanatic and major, I had been familiar with the film adaptation and knew all about the impact it’s had as a science fiction essential over the decades, but had never really been interested in the film (sci fi is not my bag). But when I signed up for the group affiliated with the story, I began to see why it was so popular and acclaimed. It’s an easy read and a fun adventure film.

I thought that the work between everyone in the group was well achieved as well. Everyone had chosen a certain theme and sub plot they wanted to focus on and created their own questions and slide for the power point. I was satisfied with my topic (film vs. novel) because I enjoyed the film version more (more than likely because of my love and leaning toward film in general). It was fun to do some research and compare and contrast the two medium’s use of the story. Usually I’m not that comfortable speaking in front of crowds, but I got a good vibe and connection while discussing the themes with the class. All in all, it was a pretty good, satisfying group effort.
